The teleology of trees…

… is to reach upwards towards the light. Boughs spread for shade. Nooks and lattices provide perches for feathered aviators and scaled predators alike. Mycorrhizal fungi spread mirror-like below the surface entwined with roots and connecting forest networks. For me trees are strange creatures of wonder that hold deep ancient secrets. Secrets that humans will never know this side of the grave. Sometimes a tree stops me in my tracks And I try capture the mystery and nobility.
